Title: The Future-Focused Leader
Subtitle: 30 Lessons for Graduates and Aspiring Executives
Author Name: Tom Lawson, CEO of ACME, Inc.
Book Summary:
This book draws lessons from working with students and young people from my professional journey and entrepreneurial endeavors. The target audience is aspiring leaders between the ages of 18 and 30, particularly those graduating from high school and university and starting their careers. The youth of today struggle to see themselves in classic books on achievement. This is not because their lessons are not relevant to them. In the past, authors had a “fixed” approach to leadership: Do this, and you will achieve that. Today, young people chafe against that kind of standardization and one-size-fits-all advice. They may appreciate and even agree with the lessons but need a bigger framework to make sense of the world and their place in it—an organizing principle for lessons that helps them achieve and fulfill their potential for themselves and those they hope to lead in the future. We call this framework Fixed-Flexible-Freestyle. Each of the lessons in the book is presented through the lens of the Fixed-Flexible-Freestyle framework, providing actionable insights for aspiring leaders graduating from high school and university.
Author/Editorial Direction:
The author wants to see both a typography-focused concept and a concept that includes graphic or visual elements. No specific direction on what graphic elements, but something that would tie well with the theme and message of the book.
